Date & Location
Saturday, July 24, 2021, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Seattle Science Foundation, Seattle, WA

Target Audience
Specialties - Neurological Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery

Overview

The trend in spine surgery for many procedures has been moving toward minimally invasive approaches. These include spine surgery for lumbar fusion, deformity surgery, and cervical surgery. Despite numerous benefits of minimally invasive spine (MIS) surgery, there is a difficult learning curve for surgeons when mastering MIS procedures. Increasing familiarity with MIS techniques creates more options for surgeons treating spine conditions with the potential to decrease surgical complications. The goal of this conference is to update spine surgeons, as well as allied health professionals on the latest advances in MIS surgical techniques.

This hybrid course will offer the opportunity for learners to attend virtually as well as in-person.  Strict public health measures will be implemented and the total number of attendees allowed to participate in-person will be limited. Register early to improve your chance to attend the meeting in-person.  Select "In-Person" under the Register tab.

Additional details will be announced soon.

Objectives
  1. Determine the appropriate minimally invasive interbody fusion to perform for specific conditions
  2. Determine the safest technique to perform each interbody procedure
  3. Outline the key steps of each interbody fusion as shown by cadaveric demonstrations
  4. Discuss the limitations of each specific minimally invasive interbody fusion technique
