The Transcranial Doppler Fundamentals & Interpretation Virtual Course is designed for physicians, sonographers, technologists, and other health care professionals seeking to acquire the knowledge base to apply and interpret Transcranial Doppler (TCD) studies.  

Course topics include: 
- Diagnostic and advanced TCD techniques in the inpatient and outpatient setting 
- The role of TCD in the management of patients with cerebrovascular disease 
- Interactive case study interpretation using established criteria and guidelines, led by practicing stroke and neurocritical care specialists

The TCD case studies and interpretation will allow physicians to complete the full 100 TCD cases required for the American Society of Neuroimaging Neurosonology Exam to acquire the RPNI credential.

This course has been endorsed by the American Society of Neuroimaging, the Neurohospitalist Society, and the Neurocritical Care Society.

This conference is jointly provided by the Seattle Science Foundation and Pacific Vascular in collaboration with Swedish Neuroscience Institute. 

This course will be broadcast via Zoom Webinar.  



Objectives
By attending this course, the participant will provide better patient care through an increased ability to:

  1. Describe basic principles of cerebrovascular anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
  2. Recognize normal and abnormal intracranial Doppler spectral waveforms
  3. Identify the clinical utility and limitations of TCD techniques
  4. Interpret TCD case studies in a variety of cerebrovascular diseases

Credit Designation Statement
Seattle Science Foundation designates this live activity for a maximum of 16.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for both live and virtual attendance (Wed 5.0 credits, Thurs 5.5 credits, Fri 6.0 credits).  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
